» Our Accomplishments

Since our founding in 2002, Justice Maryland has taken significant steps towards accomplishing its mission.

In August 2003, we helped launch the Prince George's County Reentry Task Force, a workgroup focused on improving Prince George's County reentry infrastructure, and the first of its kind outside of Baltimore City.

For the past three years Justice Maryland has brought the holidays to more than 600 children of incarcerated parents.

Through our Partnership for Treatment Not Incarceration, we successfully advocated for more diversion options for nonviolent offenders and more money for treatment (HB 295/SB 194).

Through our Maryland, Got Democracy initiative, we have pushed the envelope around felon disenfranchisement.

Finally, we have also successfully advocated for the restoration of economic supports for non-violent drug offenders in recovery (HB 1064).
